The images are on layers and opening and closing of the images is controlled by behaviours. Open in the editor, open the behaviours panel to see this.

Compression

This is much used for web images. To compress you need a program. Both the flower images above are compressed using a compression program to make
them load faster.

Animated Graphics

There are a number of programs that will produce animated graphics. These give animation to your otherwise static images.

Have a look at this animated gif produced in 'Animation Shop' (part of 'Paintshop Pro')

What are Interaction and Animation?

Interaction is when something happens on the web page in response some input from the user.
Animation is when there is movement on the screen which would otherwise be static.
There are various ways to provide these features on web sites using the features provided by Dreamweaver.
See the information file from Dreamweaver Help about this

Examples of Interactivity and Animation

The 'Welcome to theSite' interaction loads when you move your mouse over the page. It then loops continually unless you reload the page.

Each of these animations are produced as Flash movies

Save this page. Open the Dreamweaver editor, select the flash movie and look at the Property Inspector. You will see that 'loop' and 'autoplay' are selected.
