- All links on web pages to
navigate to other are called hyperlinks.
- External links to other sites
need to have the full address given when setting them up. Look at the text
file that explains the format of full external links
- Go to Insert
menu - 'Hyperlink'
or click on the icon on the standard toolbar.
- Look at the 'Create
Hyperlink' dialogue
box. If you want a relative link select the file from the box.
If you want an external link type the full URL
(see
What is a hyperlink?-text file) in the URL box
- Select the underlined colours
to be used to identify this is a link. There is a default, but you can
alter this if there is going to be a clash by going to 'Page Properties'
-Background (right click on main content page for a service menu)
It is useful to add a link to a
contact name on a web site. This is done by setting up an e-mail link.
This can be done 2 ways
- You can add a 'mailto'
link. This will open up an e-mail program such as Outlook or Outlook
Express for the user to send an e-mail to the site administrator. This isn't
as yet supported by all web server software or all browsers, but usually
works.
- Go to Insert menu and select
'Hyperlink'. You need to click on the 'Make hyperlink' button and the
dialogue box shown below appears.

- Add a non active link
as follows: Contact
admin@learnsouthwest.co.uk
- Graphic links are
simply where you click on a graphic image to trigger a hyperlink
- Insert the graphic Right click
on it and select 'Hyperlink' from the service menu. Type in the full
URL for an external link.
- Look at the link for Google
below. Right click in the editor and select 'Hyperlink Properties' to
see the URL. Try it out in preview.

In
Page view, right-click the
page, click Page Properties on
the shortcut menu, and then click the Background
tab.
Under Formatting, select
the Enable hyperlink rollover effects check
box.
Click Rollover Style.
