(2) Using Property Inspector & Insert Bar

The two most commonly used modules are the Property Inspector and the Insert Bar

(1) The Property Inspector

This is used to format objects. It displays the characteristics of the existing object and can then be used to change it. Depending on what is selected it will change its appearance.

The basic shape is as below, but the bottom section (selected as open by using the arrow in bottom right) usually displays the characteristics of any cell in which the cursor is found.

(2) The Insert Bar

This is found welded to the top menu ststem above the Document Toolbar.
There are 12 tabs to select different views. 'Common' view is selected by default
Layout is used to insert tables, layers and drag out tables onto the screen. Standard View is selected by default.


All the views all perform specialist jobs.

(1) Common inserts commonly used objects such as images, links, tables and things made in Flash and Fireworks

(2) Layout switches between Standard and Layout view. In Layout view you can draw out tables and cells. In       Standard view you can insert Layers and Insert tables already containing rows and cells.

(3) Text is used to insert formatting tags.

(4) Tables allows you to insert an entire table

(5) Frames has icons concerned with the layout of frames.

(6) Forms has icons all connected to creating forms

(7) Templates is used to insert editable and other regions into template files.

(8) Characters allows you to insert certain specialist signs. The main use for this is to insert line breaks.

(9) Media has buttons for inseerting Flash buttons , Flash animated media and Flash text. You insert Java applets       and ActiveX objects here too.

(10) Head has icons concerned with putting meta tags into the head section of your page.

(11) Script is used to put in scripts and serverside includes.

(13) Application allows dynamic elements to be inserted
