MX has three possible workspace layouts

(You can change them in Edit/Preferences/General/Change Workspace)

You can make it look like DW4 with floating panels but the standard MX workspace can be seen below.

The important tools to understand are

• The Insert Bar contains buttons for inserting things like images, tables, buttons and layers. It contains 12 different sections

• The Property Inspector is used to format and set the properties of selected objects

• Panels are used to carry out tasks. The panels are grouped together by type. Others are available in the Window menu.
