An Example of Nested Layers

This layer arrangement consists of one layer with 3 others nested in it.
The special offer tabs 2 and 3 open up new related hidden layers. (Specoffer 2 & 3) Look at the Layers Panel to see how these are nested within the Advert layer. Offer 1 layer is also nested but this opens up an image file instead of another layer and is opened by clicking.

Why Use Nesting?

1. All the layers are linked together. When the parent is moved the nested layers move with it.
2. They all share the same visibility.
3. You can now include related information by including new linked layers which can be revealed using sripted functionality

How are layers nested?

1. Place the cursor inside the parent layer
2. Choose layer command from the Insert Menu
3. Draw out the new layer within the existing one

NB Make sure that Prevent Overlaps is not selected!

Links from layers

You can use a layer as a simple link to a URL which is set up in the normal way. (see Special Offer layer tag)or you can assign a background image to appear as the visible layer when it is selected. This has been done with the two special offer links set up below the layers. This brings up the layers to which the link is assigned and displays their background images.
